The Broken Wings

The Broken Wings

Where am I?
I cry, gag, and wake up with a whack.
I am out, aghast, where is my sac?

The wonderful care and sweet gentle stare.
I crawl and cling, funny wobbly fling.
So, day by day I am made aware
of my two strong wings to flap and flair.

The deep blue sky and the shifting winds,
I soar and slide, giddily glide.
The wings are forever, I think in trance.
I race nonstop, one way advance.

Years went by…Now, why can’t I?
I push and try to fly in the sky,
My broken wings and far off swings.

May someone come to carry me again,
I don’t want to cling to the broken wings.

The cycle of life and a pause of death,
The time has come to get new wings.
